Science in the Summer returns!

You can find details about all of STPL’s Summer Reading programs on our Calendar of Events.

STPL is excited to once again host the Carnegie Science Center’s wonderful and FREE traveling science program for kids, sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.  This year, Science in the Summer program will offer a new curriculum, Simple Machines.

Simple Machines are tools that we use every day, helping us get work done more easily, without the use of batteries or electricity. We will experiment with the six kinds of machines: the lever, inclined plane, screw, wheel, pulley and gears.  We will use our imaginations and invent some dream machines!

Students entering grades 2 thru 6 in the Fall of 2014 are welcome to participate.

Tuesday, August 12th through Friday, August 15th **(New dates)**
Session 1 will be at 12:30 – 1:30 for those entering grades 2-4 in the Fall of 2014
Session 2 will be at 2:00 – 3:00 for those entering grades 4-6 in the Fall of 2014

Pre-registration is required in person and a parental release form must be signed before any child is allowed to participate. Registered children must be able to participate each day the program is offered.  This is a popular program, register today!
