Pre-Registration for all programs is encouraged to ensure plenty of "stuff" for all! 2 Weeks prior to programs we can take your reservation. Contact the Circ Desk: 412.429.5380

Birth - 6 years: Read-to-Me
K - 6th Grade: Readers
7th Grade & Up: Teens

How SRC Works

  • REGISTRATION:
  • Begins June 12, 2010.
  • Start on-line: http://host8.evanced.info/scott/sr/homepage.asp
  • Verify at the library, get your SRC bag & get your number!
  • Or, no access to a computer? You can register at the library.
  • PLAY THE GAME:
  • Read (or listen or have some one read to you).
  • Track the TIME you read or listen or are read to.
  • Record that - for youngsters color in rain drops for every 15 minutes you read.
  • ONCE A WEEK:
  • Return your rain drops (MAKE SURE YOUR NUMBER IS ON THE BACK!)
  • Get tickets. (MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR NUMBER ON THE BACK!)
  • Place tickets in jugs to enter drawings for fun prizes.
  • PROGRAMS:
  • No need to be enrolled in SRC to attend the weekly programs.
  • Please register at the Circ Desk (412.429.5380) so we can make sure we have enough for all!
  • Bring a friend!

The Summer Reading Club is a nationwide cooperative library project. It's a FREE, fun filled, summer program libraries across the country host to encourage reading while the children are out of school.

In Allegheny County all libraries participate to some degree and use the same theme. The Summer Reading Club (SRC) at our library is open to children of all ages
